Event Details
Dates: TBD (September of October, 2012)
Cost: $150 per person plus $50 for pot-luck (see below for details)
In response to the growing leadership needs of our region for community education, self reliance, sustainability, and the protection of Bute Inlet, there will be a leadership council and retreat held on Nootka Island for three days this October.
Following the guidance of the seasons, October offers the abundance of the harvest and the opportunity to collect our energies by coming together for feasting and sharing.
This expedition will take place at the powerful and transformative location of Nootka Island, hosted by Neil Maffin of Quadra Island. Other facilitators and organizers are Sheldon Etheridge of Outdoor Classroom, Derek Jean of Expeditions for Life, Emma Cote and Jane West of Quadra Island Kayaks. It will be a supportive and safe environment for visioning, sharing, resting and transformation.
The aim for this event is to allow the collective vision of the participants to present itself in an open space format. There will be time and space held for unique offerings from people. Some activities will include open dialogue, dance and expression, beach games, information sessions on successful projects from 2012, chanting, future goals and visions, council fire, and sweat lodge.
Please RSVP if you are going to attend, or contact info@expeditionsforlife.com for more information. Transportation will be provided from Tahsis.
We are looking forward to seeing you there.
