What is Journeying Towards a Local Solution?

Local solutions to local problems can be achieved by utilizing local resources and expertise.  With unlimited access to information and technology, it is no longer necessary (or appropriate) to expend non-renewable energy to develop projects.  Through team work, self reliance, and resourcefulness, the members of expeditions for life can achieve significant results in a sustainable way.

As we embark on expeditions and projects together, we discover in each of us, a unique key to unlocking the solution.  In essence, a local solution resides within our selves, and within our ability to cooperate and communicate as a team.  Your journey is to navigate within your self to remove obstacles that prevent right-action from flowing through you.  Through team work and peer mentoring, we support each other to challenge these false beliefs that keep us from seeing the "next-step".

What is a Peer Network?

A peer network is what we rely on when we need help.  Seeking help and trusting our peers demonstrates an openness that fosters cooperation.  Many of us have realized that the earth is requiring us to shift towards a cooperative relationship with her in order to achieve balance with all life.  Expeditions for Life is founded on the principle of cooperation.  Within our peer networks, we can develop trust by demonstrating our support, and by taking decisive action. It will take many people, working towards common goals, to re-establish harmony with the earth.  As the Hopi prophecy states, "We are the ones we have been waiting for."

What is Leadership Mentoring?

Leadership Mentoring occurs in a group of 2 or more people who help each other in practical applications to develop leadership skills.  By working together in a self-organizing model like Expeditions for Life, people begin to assume their natural roles within a leadership continuum.  The differing leadership styles in the network present a diversity of learning opportunities to each member. This expanse of mutually beneficial relationships in leadership development and personal growth forms the hallmark of Expeditions for Life.  (Developed on the principle that diversity creates many mutually beneficial relationships)

What is Alchemic Leadership?

Alchemic leadership presents a way of looking, hearing, sensing, touching, tasting, smelling, and being a part of our environment as opposed to just being a passive bystander. It means taking responsibility for who "I" am in this world.  Alchemic Leadership is a reconnecting with the lost arts of imagination, creativity, mystery, humility and compassion for who we are, who others are, within the non-judgmental natural world. A world that is real, and filled with true meaning.  These genuine leadership traits reside in each and every one of us. Whether or not we choose to unlock the potential is what determines our future as leaders.  Genuine leadership is dependent upon three interdependencies; an awareness of the natural world within which we live, our self, and community.  (Adapted from Bruce Wilson's philosophy on Alchemic Leadership read more...)

What are Perceived Limitations and how can they be overcome?

There are two types of limitations.  Perceived and actual.  Actual limitations are governed by physical laws and operating parameters, while perceived limitations are the result of limited belief systems about what is possible.  These limited belief systems dissolve when the synergy of a group combines to contribute the necessary skills and resources to achieve project goals.   By effectively communicating with one another, our intentions reveal the strength and resilience we need to overcome barriers as a team.
